Whether you are trying counseling for the first time or looking for someone who better matches who you are and what you need, hello and welcome!

Allow me to introduce myself and briefly share a little about me, my name is Bonnie Dupuis. I am a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where I obtained my Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am also Level II trained through the Gottman Institute specializing in couple’s therapy. This training has supplied me with advanced tools to work with general and more complex cases relationally, including: affairs, addiction, trauma, and domestic violence. This advanced couples therapy model is trauma-informed and focuses on improving communication, managing conflict efficiently, healing within the relationship, and strengthening the emotional bond you have with your partner(s). I was adopted as a teenager from DCFS which has steered me towards the field of counseling. I have found my heart and passion in helping those in their lowest moments, toughest battles, and hardest struggles. It is my hope that I am able to aid my clients in getting to know themselves more deeply and empathetically that pushes for deeper reflection & connection, hope, and growth.

I see ages 6 and up, individuals, couples, and families. I have specialized interests in the unique struggles and challenges that impact the foster and adoptive community, trauma, grief, couple and familial issues, LGBTQ+ related issues, anxiety, and depression. I utilize an eclectic approach in which I incorporate trauma focused modalities and evidence based interventions. I practice from a strengths-based approach which encourages discovery of the innate abilities that you have and how to use them in a way that facilitates movement towards your healing. Additionally, I see the counseling relationship through a systemic and multicultural infomed lens, considering the many relationships and societal structures in place that contribute to what has brought you into the counseling room. It is my goal to cultivate a non-judgemental space in which you feel valued, understood, respected, and safe enough to be authentically you. Let’s talk :)
