Bonnie Dupuis

Counseling Intern

Private Pay, Sliding Scale

My name is Bonnie Dupuis, I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology in May 2021 from University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I was led to the counseling field based on my own difficult life experiences. I find my passion in being able to work with clients from not only an experiential aspect but an evidence based one too. I pride myself in being empathetic, flexible, and curious in nature when I step into the counseling room. I am always eager to learn what it means to be you. I practice from a trauma-informed lens incorporating a systems, person-centered, and strengths based approach.

My areas of focus range from individuals dealing with anxiety and depression as well as other life difficulties to relationship struggles with couples and families. My tendency is to meet you where you are at in terms of the approaches that I utilize. Whether I am more direct or indirect solely depends on what you need in that moment. I also take a systemic approach, considering the many relationships and societal structures in place that contribute to what has brought you into the counseling room. I believe that you are the expert of your own life. I strive to make my clients feel safe and comfortable enough for change and transformation to happen. Through our work together, I will strive to aid you in your journey of self-awareness and value exploration to allow you the space to process and heal.
