Emily Gannon

Counseling Intern

Private Pay, Sliding Scale

It takes a tremendous amount of courage and strength to seek counseling services, and I’m so glad you’re here! Counseling can seem very intimidating, but I will walk that path alongside you and (hopefully) make the process a lot less daunting. My name is Emily Gannon, and I am a Counseling Intern currently pursuing my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. My areas of focus include relationship issues, bereavement, neurodivergence, depression, and anxiety, and I have a special interest in working with geriatric populations.

I believe that having a good working relationship with your counselor is what makes counseling so special. My goal is to create a safer space for you to share the way you experience life, and no topics are off-limits. Every person is the expert in their own life, and I like learning about people by approaching them with curiosity and empathy.  My aim is that through getting to know my clients, I can empower them to be the best version of themselves and move toward personal betterment and wellness.

I work with individuals 18 and up, couples, and families. As a Counseling Intern, I offer sessions at a reduced rate and work under the supervision of Robyn Sonnier, LPC-S and Emma Carline, LPC-S.
